EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

Update Europapier Group

Dear customers,

with this statement, Europapier would like to provide insight into our approach to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The EUDR is a European regulation designed to combat global deforestation and forest degradation. This regulation came into force on 29 June 2023 and is intended to replace the current EUTR. Like its predecessor, the EUDR will monitor the origin of timber and other raw materials in order to prevent the import of illegally harvested timber.

Europapier is currently implementing the due diligence system (DDS) required under the EUDR as part of a group-wide project. Although the due diligence requirements for timber are similar to those of the EUTR, the scope is significantly broader and therefore requires extensive adjustments to our existing systems to comply with the new EUDR.

Europapier is working with an experienced external partner to collect all information that is important to our customers, and from January 2026 we will provide our customers with the required reference and validation numbers for the due diligence declarations via the available transmission channels (EDI, delivery documents, etc.).

Until then, we will continue to comply with the EUTR guidelines. Our commitment to adhering to these standards reflects our ongoing commitment to helping protect forests from illegal logging.
